Top Excursions you must book in the Dominican Republic
I have gotten so many messages about the blog post on our stay at the Dominican Treehouse Village, I decided to write a second post about all of the amazing activities they provide at the Treehouse. During our stay, I had the opportunity to experience some of the most amazing excursions, and I think these adventures are what made the stay exceed all of my expectations! From low key activities like riding beach cruisers to the local beach, to zip lining down the mountain at the best zip line I have ever been on!
Laid back BEach Cruisers to the beach
The Dominican Treehouse Village is located close to a beautiful beach called Playa El Valle, which is a 10-minute bike ride from the resort. Because it was so accessible, we spent multiple days at the beach relaxing. Not only is the beach beautiful, it was also deserted! There were very few people, which made it so unlike the other Caribbean beaches I've been to. On some of the days we were there we were the only people at the beach. The resort can provide you with a fresh lunch at the beach, and it is some of the best food we ate! The resort also provides guests with access to beach cruisers so you can take off and be at a beautiful beach within minutes.
Horseback rides to a waterfall
On our second day staying at the resort the staff had arranged for a horseback ride to El Limon Waterfall. I've never been able to get this close to such a large waterfall before. It was truly breathtaking and something I won’t soon forget. We got caught in a tropical rain storm on the way to the waterfall, which added to the fun. This waterfall is one in a million, and I think it should be on everybody’s bucket list!
ATV ride through the countryside
On the third day we went on an ATV tour through various villages to another beach called Playa Rincon. We all loved this excursion because we were able to go through some of the local towns and see the people and get a real view at how they live. This side of the island is more remote, and you can see everyday people working, playing, and living. Seeing another culture from this perspective is my favorite part of going to another country. We stopped at some beautiful swimming holes, and rode our ATV’s along the beach. We ended the ride by taking a short, exhilarating, boat ride to Playa La Playita to soak up the Dominican sun. Another beautiful beach!
ziplining through the jungle
All of the excursions were great, but the best excursion was the zipline that was located right at the Village! I'm not going to lie, the walk to the top of the zipline was short (maybe 15 minutes), but it was steep. The staff was amazing, and had cold water waiting for us once we made it to the top. The resort is very safety conscious, and while you are zipping you’re always connected to two cables, and while you’re waiting for your turn, you’re also connected to a safety line. Starting from the top of the canyon there are 12 stations that zigzag across the canyon and river below, and when you make it to the bottom you are a short five minute walk to the main lodge at The Village.
If you're up for an adventure The Dominican Treehouse Village should be on your list. It's beautiful and relaxing. You will come back a changed person, I promise! If you have any questions about The Dominican Treehouse Village you can email me or leave a comment and I’ll help you out!
