Disney World Family Vacation

If you’ve ever been on a family vacation to Orlando you know how stressful it can be.  Well, I have a great tip on having the best Disney experience.  Staying at the Encore Resort takes so much stress out of a vacation.  We have stayed at the Encore Resort in Orlando before, and we loved it so much that we knew we had to stay there again for this trip!  If anyone is looking for a place to stay for a Disney World trip, this is your solution!

Travel with friends!

We were lucky enough to travel with one my best travel buddies Rachel from @xo.RachelPitzel and her two kids.  I think our kids would have slept in our private pool if we let them!  They had so much fun together during the non Disney World times.  They loved hanging out at the house and swimming, just as much as going to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom!  I think the private pool was by far the best thing about our stay in Orlando!  It made us feel like we were not always on the go and could actually relax on vacation.  In all of my family travel, that is the number one tip to a good vacation… somehow find something that will entertain your kids and allow you some downtime to enjoy your time off!  Encore Resort definitely provided that, with a private house and pool!!!

Encore Resort is close to Walt Disney World

The Encore Resort is close to the Orlando International Airport and is made up of all private homes in a gated community.  Each home has approximately 8-10 bedrooms so there is plenty of space for everyone, and it’s located within minutes to all of the theme parks.  I am already trying to arrange a trip with a few of our close friends to share a house at the Encore Resort and go back!  Sharing a house makes a family vacation affordable, and the houses are big enough everyone has their own space!

Being so close to the Disneyworld and Universal Studios Florida parks was super convenient because if you wanted to take a break in the middle of the day it only takes you a few minutes to get back to the resort and vice-versa. We did that on a few of our hot park days!  We ran back to our house, swam for an hour or so, and then headed back when to the Disney parks when it was less busy and cooler!  I know as a parent you know how much it costs to go to the parks and don’t want to waste a minute, but listening to your kids, and going at their pace really makes the biggest difference on everyone’s happiness!  When they get tired from the constant go, an hour and a half break is a savior I promise!

Onsite amenities

Besides being close to Disney World and Universal Studios the Encore resort has its own water park.  There are slides and water toys for all ages, and our kids were never bored with all of the activities they could do.  They have different slides that various ages can do.  We had kids from age 4-13 and they all could ride the big waterslides!  Everyone who has littler kids knows how hard it is to tell the little ones they can’t ride the bigger slides, not a problem at Encore!  Because the pool area was staffed with numerous lifeguards it was easy to relax under the cabana while the kids played their hearts out.

The resort’s staff is amazing and always has something planned.  There were hula hoop contests, crafts, and soccer games that the staff encouraged everyone to join in on.  In addition to planning fun things, the staff was very attentive and helpful with any questions or concerns we had.

Dining Options

We loved the onsite restaurants and they deliver to your house!  Sometimes you just don’t feel like getting ready and sitting at dinner with kids and this was perfect!  We ate at their onsite restaurant Finn’s a couple time, and everyone loved their meals!  It was super quick service and the food was amazing!  We loved their balsamic dressing so much they gave us their recipe!  If you go, try it!  They also have an onsite coffee bar, and have souvenir cups that are refillable all week long!  They have thought of everything to make your stay easy!

I have to admit that we were having so much fun at the Encore Resort it was tough to leave and go to parks, but after a long day of being out-and-about it was nice to come home to our house.  I’m sure you’ve all been in a hotel room that seemed a little too small, especially when the whole family comes.  Staying at the Encore Resort eliminates all of that stress and let’s you focus on having fun!
